I am a native of Rochester, NY, having attended Penfield High School. I jetted to the West Coast for college at Stanford University.

While at Stanford I was active at The Stanford Daily and with the Stanford Symphony Orchestra, in which I played French horn and served as a tour manager for our first international tour. Although I finished my undergraduate degree in physics, I quickly abandoned the field for journalism.
